iPhonaddict Reviews: Perfect Weather

Perfect Weather is a new app brought to us by Contrast, formally App Cubby, creators of the super useful app Launch Center Pro. The team at Contrast has been working on Perfect Weather for some time now and they have done an excellent job. The app is visually beautiful and provides you with all of the information you will need.  Lets take a look.

Launching Perfect Weather for the first time will prompt you to allow access to your current location. After tapping allow you are presented with your cities. Cupertino is in by default along with your current location. Tapping on a city will focus the map and information  on that location.

Displayed on the City view is the current condition, Hi/Low temp and precipitation %. You will notice there is a grabber, pulling down on that will open up 6 day forecast. Pulling the grabber down again will unveil the hourly forecast.

Hourly View

Swiping across this section will reveal more details; Humidity, Visibility, Sunrise, Sunset wind and more.

You can tap and drag in the hourly window to see the weather conditions at a specific time.

At the bottom left of the screen there is play button with the time. Tapping this will play the most recent doppler radar.

The bottom right corner you can change the radar from rain to clouds.

It's a bit cloudy in California.

Tapping on the city will bring back to an overview of the saved locations. You can also swipe  down on the location to reveal the other cities. You can also swipe down to reveal the above city.

Tapping edit will allow you to add a city and re-arrange/delete the current entries

Searching for a city by zip code.

You may have noticed a lightening bolt on the City bar. Weather alerts will be displayed here.

Weather information is provided by the NOAA making the app only usable in the US.  Perfect weather has a nice balance of information and simplicity making this weather app a must have. The developers are still woking on the app so new features may be coming. Perfect Weather was released Tuesday, September 17th and had bug fixes available the next day.

Perfect Weather is available in the AppStore for $2.99 and is iPhone only at this time but will run on other iOS devices running iOS6 and newer.
