iOS 7 Sneak Peak

Apple has announced the future of iOS software, iOS 7. iOS 7 has gone through a complete make over. I am currently running the beta software for two reasons. 1) for you guys & 2) because I need (want) to have the latest and greatest running on my iPhone. I can not show you everything because as a registered developer I agreed to a NDA (I legally cant show it off) but I can go over what was displayed at WWDC. Let me tell you this, it is stunning. You will absolutely love it. The entire UI has been re-designed. The system is clean with a new font and less clutter. All stock apps have been updated.

Lock Screen - The Lock Screen is super clean.  No more giant slide to unlock banner across the bottom.  Now just slide anywhere to unlock your device.  You can now access Notification Center and Control Center from the Lock Screen as well.

Home Screen - As you can see all of the icons are new.

Messages  - Chat bubbles are a new shade of blue (iMessage) and green (SMS).

Air Drop - Now you can share items with your friends nearby.

Multi Tasking - A new card interface.  To Close the app, simply flick it up

Today View - In Notification Center you are able to preview your scheduled events for the day.

Control Center - This is a big feature. Swipe up from anywhere to access quick settings, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Airplane Mode, iPod controls, Flashlight and more

iTunes Radio - New streaming radio service will be free with ads for everyone on iOS 7. iTunes Match subscribers will get ad free radio.

Photos - Now organized by date and location.  Sorted into Moments & Collections

Camera - Swipe to change between Video, Still, Crop, Panoramic. Filters are also available

Safari - Less clutter and more room for web pages, unlimited tabs, new layout for your bookmarks too.

Siri - New design, new voice, new options. Siri can now access your system settings and includes Bing & Wikipedia integration.

Weather - Includes animated weather and ability to swipe between cities.

Mail - Super clean and very minimal

As you can see Ive and all of the Apple engineers have been hard at work revamping iOS. iOS 7 resolved a lot of comlpaints: quick settings, better multi-taksing and a refreshed UI among them. There are some things we didnt get: real actionable notifications and better file sharing with installed apps to name off a couple. Overall the team has done a great job an I am looking forward to the public release. 9to5mac has an in-depth video available of the changes in iOS 7. iClarified has a nice collection of screenshots as well. iOS 7 will be available in the fall for iPhone 4 and newer, iPad2 and newer, iPad mini, iPod touch 4th Gen and newer.
