iPhonaddict Reviews: FallDown! 2

FallDown! 2 is the sequel to FallDown! where the objective of the game is to drop the ball through the holes as far as you can before you get flattened. FallDown! 2 has the same concept but has been redesigned. The game is bright and colorful with sort of a techno style music that you can turn off in the settings. The developers added a touch option to the gameplay. You can choose to use the tilt control or touch control in the settings. I prefer using the tilt control over touch.

The object of the game is to get your ball as low as possible while collecting stars and power ups and avoiding the laser. Watch out for bombs, they are mixed in with the power ups and will slow you down. The stars you collect can be used to unlock different wallpapers and different ball styles. Falling through consecutive openings will also give you a point bonus.  As you progress through different levels, the blocks change color and the laser moves quicker.

The only thing I do not like about the game is the ads. Thankfully the ads are not present during the actual gameplay and are limited to a notification sized box at the top of the screen.  The original game offered an in app purchase for $0.99 to remove the ads but I do not see that option in this version. Game Center is also integrated if you wish to compete against your friends.  Overall this is a fun game and a great time killer.  The game is currently free in the App Store and has a 4.5 out of 5 star rating.  The game is rated for ages 4+, requires iOS 5.0 or newer, works on iPhone 3GS, 4, 4S, 5, 3rd Gen iPod touch and newer and the iPad (Universal).

Falldown 2 was the iOSDocked "Game Center Showdown" pick for Episode 43 of the iOSDocked podcast.
