Rss FeedThis week my "i-Like" (pick of the week) was Oink. Oink is the new social networking app that is all about ratings. Rate everything and anything. Here is a breakdown of what the app entails:
The first thing you want to do is set up a profile. After doing so you want to build some credibility. So add credibility. Do this by adding tags to the credibility tab on the app. Some examples of credibility are apps, coffee, hamburgers, people, places and television shows. Tags represent what you are into. You level up everytime you "Oink" item that is categorized under one of those preselected tags.
You can then go follow some people you find interesting. There is even an option to auto-follow the people you follow on Twitter or Facebook. Or alternatively, you can just ask Oink to suggest some interesting people for you.
Then hit the discovery button and let Oink know where you are so that it can display recently oinked items close to you. You can even hit a "Live" button and see a live feed of everyone in the community as they oink away. Start oinking items by rating them under 1 of the following categories: Love, Like, Ok, Dislike or To-do. These are all pretty self-explanatory. There is even the option to leave a mini-review if you like.
If you want to start your own Oink item, simply hit the "Oink" button, enter your location and add an Oink using the "Add an item" button.
Finally, one my favorite features is just to see a snap grid view of all my Oinks. This really gives a nice and clean quick look at what a person is all about.
I love this app. It is currently my 2nd most used social network app. (Twitter of course is still 1st).
